Tinubu Behind Lingering PDP Crisis – Atiku’s Media Aide Alleges

In response to recent events, Phrank Shaibu, Special Assistant on Public Communication to Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, stated that the ongoing struggle for the chairmanship of the PDP could jeopardize the party’s future if those responsible are not removed.

He expressed to DAILY POST that if the issue remains unresolved and those aligned with the APC are allowed to carry out their plans, it could lead to a one-party system in Nigeria.

Shaibu cautioned that Nigeria is at risk of becoming a one-party state if the PDP does not address its chairmanship crisis. He suggested that President Bola Tinubu might push Nigeria towards a one-party system, emphasizing the urgency for the PDP to settle its internal disputes.

He remarked, “We are aware of Tinubu’s tactics; even during his time as governor, he maintained a one-party system in Lagos State for over 20 years after leaving office. From local governments to the state assembly and the governorship, they consistently suppress and control the opposition, which is not surprising.”

Shaibu also pointed out that the instigators of conflict have been evident since the 2023 elections, and the media has recognized their role. He noted that the initial focus was on the G-5, and he had warned Nigerians about the direction this was heading.

He linked the current complaints about poverty and hunger to the destructive impact of those in power, likening it to a cowboy leaving a place in ruins.

He concluded by stating that instead of focusing on governance, those in power are exacerbating the crisis for personal gain and political favors, which is a lucrative endeavor.
