Manchester United Confirm Ruben Amorim As New manager

Ruben Amorim has been officially named manager of Manchester United.

The Red Devils confirmed in a statement on Friday that Amorim will remain with Sporting Lisbon until November 11.

This means that the Premier League trip to Ipswich Town will be the 39-year-old’s first game in charge.

Amorim has agreed to a contract that will run until June 2027, with the possibility of an additional year.

Sporting has received an additional €1 million (£840,000) from United in addition to his €10 million (£8.4 million) exit clause in exchange for an early release from his 30-day notice period.

He will take over for Erik ten Hag, who was fired on Monday. Meanwhile, Ruud van Nistelrooy will serve as a temporary replacement until Amorim joins the team.

Sunday’s league match at home against Chelsea is United’s next game.
