Dozens Of Israeli Soldiers Troops Vow To Quit Over Gaza Captives – Report

Over 100 Israeli soldiers have signed a letter stating they will refuse military service unless the government agrees to a ceasefire in Gaza and ensures the release of captives held there.

As reported by the Israeli newspaper Haaretz, the letter, which was sent to Israeli cabinet ministers and the army chief of staff, was signed by 130 reservists and draftees from various military units.

The letter expressed that it has become evident that continuing the conflict in Gaza not only prolongs the hostages’ captivity but also puts their lives at risk. It noted that many hostages have died due to military strikes, far exceeding the number rescued in operations aimed at saving them.

The soldiers warned that they “will not be able to continue serving” unless the government actively seeks a deal for the captives, stating, “For some of us, the red line has already been crossed. For others, the time is nearing when we will, with heavy hearts, cease to report for duty.”
