Court Orders VeryDarkMan To Take Remove Social Media Posts About Falz, Falana

On Tuesday, the Lagos State High Court ordered social media activist Martin Vincent Otse, known as VeryDarkMan, to remove defamatory comments and videos he posted about prominent human rights lawyer Femi Falana (SAN) and his son, Folarin Falana, also known as Falz.

Justice M. O. Dawodu issued the ruling in case number ID/8584/GCM/2024, stating that VeryDarkMan’s videos, which were shared on September 24 and linked crossdresser Idris Okuneye, a.k.a. Bobrisky, to Falz and his father, were damaging to their reputations.

The court noted that the plaintiffs (Falz and Falana) argued that VeryDarkMan was aware that these statements were false but chose to publish them anyway to harm their reputations.

Justice Dawodu emphasized that the defamatory content remains accessible on VeryDarkMan’s various online platforms, perpetuating the damage to their reputations as long as it stays online.
