Bode George Blasts Fayose For Spporting Gov Oyebanji’s Re-election

Bode George, a leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has criticised former Ekiti State Governor Ayo Fayose for expressing his support for the re-election of Biodun Oyebanji, the incumbent governor of the state, in the All Progressives Congress (APC).

George, speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Monday, said if Fayose had indeed declared his support for Oyebanji, something is wrong.

He said the PDP would launch an investigation into the former governor in his constituency to see if he would be punished for anti-party activities.

“If it is true that Governor Fayose has publicly rejected the party and said he will work for the APC governor, he has set his own course.

We will make the necessary arrangements for the investigation within Ekiti State before reporting from his area.

“Ayo knows that even though he is a member of this party, People Democratic Party and has twice been a governor of a party, he cannot openly say that he is now working for an opposition governor.
Something is wrong,” George said.

Recall that Fayose had praised Governor Oyebanji on Sunday Politics on October 13, saying it would take a miracle for the PDP to defeat him in the 2026 Ekiti State gubernatorial election.

He said, “I am the leader of Ekiti, even though the governor there is a member of the APC.

As I said, we can either die lying or die telling the truth.

He expressed disappointment that PDP members have allowed personal interests to disturb peace in the party, adding that for lasting peace to be brought about in the PDP, the interest of the party must always be prioritised over personal interests.

He appealed to feuding members to stop airing their dirty laundry in public and give peace a chance in the party.
