Key Senate Positions At Stake In Texas, Florida
In addition to the presidential election in United State of America, 34 Senate seats are being contested today, 5th, November in the influential US Senate.
Currently, the Democrats have a slim majority, but they are facing a tougher battle to maintain control since 23 of their seats are up for re-election, compared to only 11 for the Republicans. This situation includes defending several competitive races in swing states.
Two of the Democrats’ strongest chances to make gains in the Senate are in Texas and Florida, where incumbent Republican Senators Ted Cruz and Rick Scott are seeking re-election.
As per the RealClearPolitics polling aggregator, Cruz is ahead of his Democratic opponent, Colin Allred, by 4.4 percent in Texas.
In Florida, Scott is leading his Democratic challenger, Debbie Mucarsel-Powell, by 4.6 percent.
