Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye, the former Minister of Women Affairs, has entered the Nigerian film industry, Nollywood. She made this transition a few months after being dismissed by President Bola Tinubu.
According to DAILY POST, Kennedy was appointed as minister in August 2023 but was removed during a cabinet reshuffle on October 23, 2024, along with four other ministers.
The 51-year-old politician has now turned her attention to filmmaking just four months after leaving her ministerial position. She announced her new acting career on her X account, sharing a video of her latest project.
In addition to her political career, Kennedy is also a lawyer and entrepreneur. She joined the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2015 and became the party’s first female presidential aspirant in 2023, although she later withdrew to support Tinubu.
