Tribunal Affirms Tinubu’s Election, As Atiku, Obi’s Petitions Thrown Out

The presidential election petition tribunal has upheld President Bola Tinubu’s victory in the February 25 election.

The tribunal chairman, Justice Haruna Tsammani, read the judgement and stated that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its candidate, Atiku Abubakar, failed to prove allegations of fraud and non-compliance with the electoral act.

The panel had previously dismissed the petitions filed by the Labour Party candidate, Peter Obi, against Tinubu’s election.

Justice Tsammani declared that the PDP’s petition lacked merit and affirmed Tinubu as the duly elected President of Nigeria. The parties involved are responsible for their own costs.
