Tesla Investor Ross Gerber Calls For Elon Musk’s Exit As CEO Amid $800 Billion Market Loose

Elon Musk has become one of the most controversial figures in business and politics, and now, a key early investor in Tesla is urging him to step down as CEO, arguing that his lack of focus is pushing the company into turmoil.
Ross Gerber, a well-known Tesla investor, has publicly called on Musk to either re-engage with Tesla or hand over leadership to someone else. His demand follows a staggering $800 billion decline in Tesla’s market value since December, which he attributes to Musk’s divided attention and increasing political involvement.
Concerns Over Musk’s Political Focus
Gerber’s primary concern is Musk’s growing involvement with the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) under Donald Trump’s administration, which he believes has distracted the billionaire from his responsibilities at Tesla.
“Tesla’s Reputation Has Been Ruined”
In an interview with Sky News, Gerber was blunt in his criticism.
“Tesla is in crisis,” he stated. “Sales are dropping, and Elon Musk has severely damaged the company’s reputation. Even the best product in the market becomes difficult to sell when the CEO is so divisive.”
According to Gerber, Tesla—once a leader in the electric vehicle industry—is now struggling due to Musk’s preoccupation with his other ventures, including Twitter (X) and his political engagements.
He issued a clear ultimatum: “Either Elon fully commits to being Tesla’s CEO and steps away from his other roles, or he should focus on politics and appoint a suitable replacement at Tesla.”
Musk’s Response—Or Lack Thereof
Musk, who is known for responding swiftly and often controversially to criticism on Twitter, has yet to address Gerber’s remarks. However, with growing frustration among investors, pressure is mounting for Musk to decide—will he double down on Tesla or step aside?
As Tesla grapples with declining sales, increasing boycotts, and rising competition in the EV market, the crucial question remains: Will Musk relinquish control, or will he fight to restore Tesla’s dominance?
