The police blocked several major roads, including key entry routes into the southern city of Eilat, as the situation worsened later in the day, according to The Times of Israel.
The Meteorological Service reported that Kibbutz Samar received 34 millimetres (1.3 inches) of rainfall, while Kibbutz Yotvata had 17 millimetres (0.7 inches) by 4:30pm.
Authorities strongly warned the public to stay away from flooded areas.
They emphasised that going near or attempting to cross flooded roads, streams, or underground water storage areas is extremely dangerous and could lead to death.
People were also advised to avoid travelling to locations at risk of flooding unless absolutely necessary.
Travellers and hikers were encouraged to consult trustworthy sources for the latest information before starting their journeys.
For updates, the public was asked to use the 101 hotline or reach out through the police chatbot.
In case of emergencies needing immediate police help, people were told to call the 100 emergency number.
