Peter Obi Donates N100 Million To DDL Project For Valentines’ Spirit

The former Labour Party LP, presidential candidate for 2023 elections, Peter Obi and Professor Philip Ozuah has contributed N100 million to the project of Daughters of Divine Love (DDL) in Emene, Enugu State.

Here’s what Obi posted on X:

In honor of Saint Valentine, whom the Church celebrated yesterday for promoting love through helping others, I visited the Daughters of Divine Love (DDL) in Emene, Enugu, to support their plan for a College of Nursing.

Saint Valentine represents love and charity, which are best shown by making sacrifices for those in need.

I am concerned about the rising culture of materialism that adds to poverty and suffering in Nigeria. Real progress happens when both leaders and citizens choose to show love through service, kindness, and working together for a better future.

I want to acknowledge the sisters for their hard work in healthcare and education, which are the two most important aspects of development. We can’t build physical structures without first taking care of our people. I will continue to support this project until it is up and running because I believe education and healthcare are vital for building our nation.

Our actions must reflect our love for creating a caring and improved society. To further support the project, I presented an additional cheque for N25 million, which is a contribution from an outstanding Nigerian, Prof. Philip Ozuah and me. This brings our total support for the project to N100 million.

Let’s work together to create a more compassionate and fair society.

A new Nigeria is possible. -PO
