Niger’s military authorities have announced the holding of a general meeting on the plan to restore democracy, almost two years after the overthrow of the country’s elected president, Mohamed Bazoum.
The four-day meeting to be held in February, which we are in, will give advice to the head of the country’s military regime, General Abdourahamane Tiani, as reported by the AFP news agency.
The commission that will organize the event will collect and submit its report in March.
The Republic of Niger is one of the countries in the Sahel region where the military seized power.
And the country, along with Mali and Burkina Faso, recently cut ties with France and ECOWAS.
