New Terror Group, Lakurawa Kill 15 People In Kebbi State

A confrontation between the Mera community residents and the newly formed terrorist group, Lakurawa, resulted in the deaths of 15 individuals in Kebbi State.

Lakurawa is reportedly connected to ISIS, which is active in the Sahel region.

As reported by BBC Hausa, the incident took place on Friday near the Mera community in the Augie Local Government Area of Kebbi State.

The conflict began when members of the Lakurawa group confronted a local herder and attempted to steal his livestock. The herder fled to the community to raise the alarm, prompting locals to gather and confront the terrorists, leading to the deaths of 15 people and numerous injuries.

“The locals managed to kill some of the terrorists and injure others. The surviving terrorists took their wounded and retreated.”

Kebbi State’s Deputy Governor, Umar Abubakar Tafida, visited the Mera community to offer condolences, accompanied by the Commissioner of Police and the Emir of Argungu.
