Joseph Aloba, father of the late artist Ilerioluwa Aloba, known as Mohbad, has responded to the claims made by his daughter-in-law, Omowunmi Aloba, in a recent interview about the circumstances surrounding his son’s premature death.
In her emotional conversation with media personality Chude Jideonwo, Wunmi shared distressing accusations about the events leading to her husband’s passing. She alleged that a nurse administered an injection that caused a severe reaction in Mohbad and claimed that Joseph Aloba was present when Mohbad died, hindering attempts by her husband’s manager to have the nurse detained, instead insisting on allowing her to leave after recognizing the harm caused.
During an interview with blogger Bukky Jesse, Mohbad’s father openly criticized Wunmi’s version of events. He claimed he had never met the nurse associated with Mohbad’s death and described a situation of emotional isolation, stating that Wunmi, alongside his estranged wife Bose and younger son Adura, had built a wall of silence around him throughout Mohbad’s struggle, effectively keeping him away until the end.
Joseph Aloba mentioned that he and Wunmi had not been in contact for a long time, even before Mohbad’s passing. He revealed that their only interaction since then was a phone call in which Wunmi hurled insults at him. He also noted that the only member of her family he had spoken to recently was her father.
