Mike Adenuga, a billionaire from Nigeria, is currently worth about $6 billion, making him the second wealthiest Black man in the world after Aliko Dangote, another Nigerian who made his money from oil. Known for keeping a low profile, Mike Adenuga made most of his money from mobile communication and oil businesses.
In 2006, he launched Globacom, which is now Nigeria’s second biggest mobile network. The company has more than 24 million users in Nigeria and is also active in the Republic of Benin. It recently secured licenses to begin operations in Ghana and Côte d’Ivoire.
One of his companies, Conoil Producing, ranks among Nigeria’s top privately owned oil exploration firms, capable of producing up to 100,000 barrels of oil daily. Mike first struck gold at the age of 26, trading in lace fabrics and similar goods. On the personal side, he is a married man with seven children.
