Real Madrid striker, Kylian Mbappe, has clinched this season’s European Golden Shoe award.
He beat Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah and Sporting Lisbon’s Viktor Gyökeres to the top prize.
In his first season playing in Spain, Mbappe scored 31 goals, earning a total of 62 points.
Gyökeres scored 39 goals in Portugal’s top division, which gave him 58.5 points due to the scoring system.
Salah finished third with 29 goals for Liverpool, who went on to win the Premier League. The Egyptian forward ended with 58 points.
Mbappe has now become the second Frenchman in history to receive the Golden Shoe, following Thierry Henry.
Barcelona’s Robert Lewandowski has scored 25 goals so far and is set to play Athletic Bilbao in their final league match on Sunday.
But regardless of the result, it is now mathematically impossible for Lewandowski to overtake Mbappe.
According to the Golden Shoe rules, each goal in the top five European leagues counts as two points, while goals in lower-ranked leagues are worth 1.5 points each.
