The Lake Chad basin is located in the north and covers an area of about 10,000 square miles. It is fed by the Chari and Logone Rivers, which flow into the lake, and it drains into the Atlantic Ocean through the Bight of Benin.
The Gulf of Guinea basin is located in the south and covers an area of about 9,500 square miles. It is fed by the Niger, Sanaga, and Nun Rivers, and it drains into the Atlantic Ocean.
