Wunmi, the grieving widow of the late musician Mohbad, has shared a detailed description of the events surrounding his death.
During a recent appearance on TVC’s Your View show, she talked about Mohbad’s negative reaction to injections given by a nurse who was called in to address his injuries.
Wunmi mentioned that the nurse came around 2 p.m. while she was preparing for their son Liam’s fifth-month celebration. She accompanied the nurse upstairs, where they chose to treat Mohbad in the master bedroom due to limited space.
Reflecting on the incident, she said, “The nurse examined his injury, and I informed her that my husband had ulcers, so she needed to be cautious with the medications. I asked about the injections, and she responded that they were for tetanus and other treatments. The first two injections went fine, but when she gave him the third, he immediately asked her to stop, saying he felt nauseous and needed to vomit.”
Wunmi recalled helping Mohbad to the restroom, where he vomited and urinated. However, when they returned, he suddenly collapsed, crying for water and saying his heart felt like it was burning.
“We poured water on him, and he requested the air conditioning because he was feeling very hot. He developed goosebumps and continued to vomit, so we moved him to Liam’s room, where there was air conditioning. Despite that, he remained uncomfortable, and we asked a neighbor for help to take him to the hospital since his car was broken down,” she explained.
Due to heavy traffic, they ended up taking him to the hospital on a motorcycle. Tragically, when they arrived, the doctor pronounced him dead.
Mohbad’s sudden death on September 12, 2023, has sparked widespread reactions and calls for justice, with many expressing concern over the circumstances surrounding his passing.
