Late Mohbad’s Wife Agrees To DNA Test To Determine Son Status

Omowunmi, the late singer and rapper Ilerioluwa Aloba aka Mohbad’s widow, has indicated that she is willing to carry out a Deoxyribonucleic Acid (DNA) test to ascertain whether their sole son, Liam, is his biological father.

According to PUNCH Metro, Joseph Aloba, the deceased singer’s father, has requested a DNA test for his grandson.

The family requested an order to serve Wunmi by posting all of the originating and other processes in the suit at the respondent’s last known address in the application that the legal team sent to Joseph.

The family’s lawful group drove by Emmanuel Oroko, notwithstanding, contended that endeavors to serve Wunmi fizzled.

On July 9, 2024, the Magistrates Court in the Ikorodu area of Lagos State ordered both parties to look into other options for resolving their differences. This led to negotiations behind closed doors that also failed to reach an agreement.

Monisola Odumosu, a member of the family’s legal team, stated in a statement obtained by PUNCH Metro on Sunday that Wunmi had agreed to conduct the DNA test.

Odumosu added that the terms of the settlement that were drafted by both parties came next.

According to Odumosu’s statement, “Emmanuel Oroko informed the court that both parties had settled outside the court and are ready to move the terms of the settlement already filed and served on Wunmi Aloba’s lawyers.” Odumosu also stated that the parties had reached an agreement outside the court. Kabir Akingbolu, Esq., in response ( leading Adams Atata, a lawyer and Attorney M.K.O. Orire concurred, and the terms of the settlement were accepted by the court as the court’s decision.

Odumosu claims that the terms of the settlement stipulated that Mohbad’s widow would consent to the DNA test being carried out in a recognized and accredited government or private medical facility within Lagos State or in another agreeable hospital outside the state.

The lawyer also mentioned that Mohbad’s father had agreed to pay for the tests and other fees that came with them.

“The respondent, Wunmi Aloba, consented to submit herself and her son, Master Liam Aloba, for the conduct of a deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) at two (2) recognized and accredited government or private medical facilities within Lagos State or other agreeable hospital outside Lagos State,” according to the terms filed with the court. Thusly, the candidate, Mr. Joseph Aloba, consented to bear the expense of the DNA test processes, including the charges for the testing office, the assortment of tests, and any related lawful or regulatory charges.

“The court also said that the Deoxyribonucleic Acid (DNA) test must be done in Nigeria at a lab or medical center that both parties can agree on.” The statement continued, “The court appointed some officers to supervise the process of the DNA test to ensure and ascertain the reliability of the test.”
