Islam is in trouble, according to prominent Muslim cleric Sheik Mansur Sokoto, because of the legal disputes over Taraba and Nasarawa’s States governorships in Northern Nigeria.
Dr. Mansur made this statement in a Facebook post titled in Hausa, “Islam and Northern Arewa,” where he also shared his reflection.
He declared, “A review of the current legal wrangling over governorships in some states is alarming. The Islamic faith will be in trouble if Taraba and Nasarawa States are conquered by non-Muslims.

SaharaReporters had earlier this week reported that Mr. David Ombugadu of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) had been declared the legitimate election winner, replacing Abdullahi Sule of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who had served as governor of Nasarawa State.
The tribunal’s head judge, Ezekiel Ajayi, recited the majority decision.
