I Won’t Retract Or Apologise For Accusing Ribadu Of Calling Tinubu Corrupt – Naja’atu Muhammad

Najatu Muhammadu, a politician from Kano, has vowed not to take back or apologize for her remarks about Nuhu Ribadu’s past remarks about accusations of corruption against President Bola Tinubu.

Naja’atu Muhammadu’s response comes after Ribadu, who is currently the National Security Adviser (NSA), demanded that she retract her comments in a TikTok video that went viral and issue a public apology.

The conflict started when Naja’atu Muhammadu claimed that Ribadu had charged Tinubu, George Akume, and Orji Kalu with corruption while serving as the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Through his attorney Ahmed Raji, Ribadu denied making such claims and threatened to take legal action if she didn’t retract them within seven days. Naja’atu Muhammadu said, “I will not retract my statement, nor will I apologise for speaking the truth as I see it,” in a statement that rejected Ribadu’s demands.

She claimed that Ribadu had tried to scare her by threatening to sue her and using other tactics. “You, Nuhu Ribadu, are free to behave however you like if you disagree with what I said. I refuse to be intimidated, coerced, or kept silent. I stand by what I said, so do what you have to,” she said.

Naja’atu Muhammadu added that she was told there were plans to harm or arrest her. “I have received numerous phone calls over the last 48 hours stating that you, Nuhu Ribadu, intend to send your attack dogs to arrest or injure me on Monday, February 10, 2025,” she stated.
