Full Hamas Statement On Plan To Stop Gaza Captives Releases

We have been covering Hamas’s decision to postpone the planned release of captives this Saturday. Below is the complete statement from the Palestinian organization.

“Hamas reaffirms its dedication to the terms of the agreement that the Zionist occupation has committed to. Hamas has fulfilled all its obligations promptly and thoroughly. However, the occupation has failed to meet the terms of the agreement and has committed numerous violations, including:

– Delaying the return of displaced individuals to the northern Gaza Strip
– Attacking our people through bombings and shootings, resulting in many casualties across various areas of the Strip
– Hindering the entry of essential supplies such as tents, temporary housing, fuel, and equipment for body recovery
– Delaying the arrival of medicines and supplies needed to restore hospitals and the healthcare system

“Hamas has documented the occupation’s violations and communicated them to the mediators one by one, yet the occupation has persisted in its misconduct. Hamas urges strict compliance with the agreement, emphasizing that it should not be selectively enforced, prioritizing less critical matters while delaying and obstructing the most urgent needs.

“The postponement of the prisoner release serves as a warning to the occupation and aims to pressure it into adhering to the agreement’s terms.

“Hamas intentionally made this announcement five full days prior to the scheduled prisoner transfer to allow mediators sufficient time to exert pressure on the occupation to fulfill its obligations, while also keeping the possibility of a timely exchange open if the occupation complies with its commitments.”
