Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan stated that there is no value in discussing US President Donald Trump’s proposal regarding the war-torn Gaza Strip.
“From our viewpoint, the suggestions made by the new US administration concerning Gaza, influenced by the Zionist lobby, are not worth discussing,” Erdogan mentioned during a press conference.
“This plan is entirely pointless. No one can displace the people of Gaza from their homeland. The residents of Gaza will remain in Gaza, live in Gaza, and defend Gaza.”
According to Al Jazeera, in a separate interview with Palestinian television on Sunday, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan also dismissed the notion of forcibly removing Palestinians from Gaza.
“The displacement of Palestinians is unacceptable,” he was reported by the Turkish state news agency Anadolu, labeling Trump’s proposal as “historically ignorant.”
