Introducing Dahiru Mangal, a visionary Nigerian entrepreneur whose remarkable journey from modest beginnings to establishing Max Air, Nigeria’s premier airline, is truly inspiring. Born on August 3, 1957, in Katsina, Katsina State, Mangal’s entrepreneurial drive emerged early in his life.
After graduating from Katsina Arabic Teachers College with a Higher Islamic Certificate, Mangal began his career as a truck driver. His determination and sharp business sense soon led him to start a car hire business, laying the foundation for his entrepreneurial success.
Mangal’s ability to network and build strategic alliances helped him grow his ventures across various industries, including transportation, oil and gas, and construction. He has held significant positions, such as Non-Executive Director of MRS Oil Nigeria Plc and Chairman of Katsina Dyeing and Printing Textiles Limited, among others.
In 2008, he founded Max Air, which quickly evolved from Mangal Airlines. Today, Max Air boasts a strong network of domestic, regional, and international flights, solidifying Mangal’s role in Nigeria’s aviation sector.
His latest project, a $1.5 billion cement plant in collaboration with Sinoma International Engineering, highlights Mangal’s dedication to enhancing Nigeria’s infrastructure. This advanced facility is expected to produce 6,000 tons of cement daily, aiming to alleviate the housing shortage and generate substantial job opportunities.
In addition to his business endeavors, Mangal is a committed philanthropist, supporting various social initiatives, including education, healthcare, assistance for internally displaced persons, and local economic development in Katsina State.
