Cristiano Ronaldo has made it clear that he has “no problem” with Rasmus Hojlund replicating his signature ‘Siu’ celebration after Denmark’s first-leg UEFA Nations League win over Portugal.
The Manchester United forward scored the only goal of the match on Thursday and performed Ronaldo’s iconic celebration in front of him. However, the former Real Madrid star downplayed any concerns, stating he wasn’t offended.
“It’s not an issue for me,” Ronaldo said ahead of the second leg. “I know it wasn’t done out of disrespect—of course not. I’m aware that many athletes around the world use my celebration, not just him.”
He added, “For me, it’s an honor. But I hope tomorrow, he gets to see my celebration instead.”
