Three out of the twelve inmates who escaped during a jailbreak at Koton Karfe Correctional Centre in Kogi State have been rearrested.
The Acting Controller General of the Nigeria Correctional Service, Sly Nwakuche, made this known during a press briefing on Monday at the correctional facility.
Expressing his regret, Nwakuche confirmed that one of the correctional service officers lost his life during the incident.
He assured that efforts were ongoing to capture the remaining fugitives.
Additionally, he urged the public to cooperate with security agencies by providing any useful information that could lead to the arrest of the remaining escapees.
