BYD Unveils Denza N9: A High-Tech Luxury SUV To Challenge BMW and Mercedes

BYD has introduced its priciest Denza N9 model, with a price tag between $54,000 and $62,000, positioning it as a strong contender against BMW and Mercedes-Benz in China’s luxury EV industry. This premium SUV is available in both plug-in hybrid and all-electric configurations, featuring a state-of-the-art three-motor system that generates up to 322 hp.
The N9 is equipped with BYD’s cutting-edge God’s Eye autonomous system, 128-line lidar technology, and even an onboard drone to enhance driving assistance. It offers remote parking and an ultra-fast charging option, which allows for a full recharge in just 19 minutes. With a remarkable 809-mile (1,302 km) range under CLTC standards, it sets a new benchmark for long-range EVs.
Chinese EV makers, including BYD, Li Auto, and Xpeng, are making significant strides in the high-end vehicle market, pushing major global brands aside. Luxury automakers like Mercedes-Benz, BMW, and Audi are struggling to maintain their market share in China as local companies continue to advance in EV technology.
