Bette Midler Sold Her Tesla Over CEO Elon Musk’s Politics

The well-known stage and movie actress has joined the list of public figures who have given up their Teslas because of Elon Musk’s political views and his support for former President Donald Trump.
Bette Midler shared her excitement in a recent Instagram post, saying, “What a joyful day! I sold my (gulp) Tesla! I no longer have to drive a car that stands for racism, greed, and ignorance. Life feels so much better now!”
Midler is famous for her roles in Broadway productions like Fiddler on the Roof and Hello, Dolly!, as well as in movies like Hocus Pocus and The Rose. She’s also known for her liberal activism and has openly criticized Musk, who is currently the world’s richest man, for his involvement with Trump’s administration.
She’s not alone—others like actor Jason Bateman, singer Sheryl Crow, and Senator Mark Kelly have also sold their Teslas for similar reasons.
Neither Midler’s team nor Tesla has commented on the matter so far.
Musk threw his support behind Trump during the summer and contributed over $250 million to help him and other Republican candidates win elections. He has also become the unofficial face of DOGE, a group that has pushed for the firing of tens of thousands of federal workers in an effort to shrink the federal government and cut down on its expenses.
