Bello Turji Group In Gun Battle With Nigeria Soldiers At Sabon Birni, Sokoto

Reports obtained by DAILY POST indicate that Nigerian Army personnel are currently engaged in a fierce gunfight with bandits led by the infamous Bello Turji.

This ongoing confrontation between Nigerian forces and Turji’s group is said to be occurring in the Sabon Birni region of Sokoto State.

A senior consultant and public affairs analyst, Abdulsalam Suleiman Izuagbe, informed DAILY POST on Thursday that it has become unsafe for travelers to move between Shinkafi and Sabon Birni.

Izuagbe stated, “There is a conflict happening in Sabon Birni; Bello Turji is currently clashing with the Nigerian Army. They are exchanging gunfire in the Sabon Birni area. It is no longer safe for anyone to travel from Shinkafi to Sabon Birni at this moment. To assume that everything is proceeding as normal is a misunderstanding of the situation.”

As of the time this report was filed, the spokesperson for the Sokoto State Police Command, ASP Sanusi Abubakar, had not responded to calls or messages sent to him.
