2031 Presidency: Nuhu Ribadu Hits Back At Nasir El-Rufai’s Allegations

The National Security Adviser to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, has responded to allegations made by former Kaduna State Governor, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai.
Ribadu stated that he became aware of the remarks made by El-Rufai in an interview on Monday evening. He explained that under normal circumstances, he would have ignored the comments, but he did not want his silence to be misinterpreted as agreement. However, he emphasized that he is too focused on his current responsibilities to engage in a public dispute with El-Rufai or anyone else.
He further noted that, despite repeated provocations and criticisms, he has never spoken negatively about El-Rufai in any public record. This, he said, is out of respect for their past relationship and their families, and he intends to maintain that stance.
Ribadu urged the public to disregard El-Rufai’s claims against him. He also clarified that he has never discussed any intention to run for president in 2031 with anyone, stressing that his full attention is dedicated to Nigeria’s progress and the success of President Tinubu’s administration.
He concluded by advising El-Rufai to allow him to focus on his national duties, just as he does not interfere in the former governor’s personal affairs.
